Questions from a 7 year old???

I know it's been awhile but I had to write about the questions that my 7 year old daughter asked me tonight while tucking her in bed. I'm just in awe!!!

Analise: "Mom, my brain is thinking and I just don't know how to ask this...but how do we live?"

Mom: "What do you mean, how do we live?"

Analise: "Well Heavenly Father made us...but who made Heavenly Father."

It stopped me in my tracks....I didn't want to confuse her more with the answer so I just said well that is not something you need to worry about because we just know why we came here and what we need to return to live with Him someday and that is all we need to think about.

She was okay with that answer....we said our prayers and then...

Analise: "Mom, how does Heavenly Father hear all our prayers...because what if someone else was praying right now?"

Again...how is her brain thinking about these things at 7 YEARS OLD!!!!

My answer was ya know I don't know but I do know he answers and hears all of them. And then her real 7 year old thoughts said...yeah he probably has lots of ears!!!

Wow...I'm flabbergasted! I don't think any of these questions were on my mind until High school. It's amazing that I can have these conversations with her now. So next family home evening is going to be on Faith....

1st Day of 2nd Grade

My big 2nd Grader!! She is growing up way too fast! She is very excited to go to Mrs. Parr's class. And just to be going back to school. After I shed a few tears from having her around all day....I picked her up and she said, "Mom I think 2nd grade is longer than 1st grade was." I just laughed....!!!!

Fishing with dad!

We decided to go fishing a few times this summer and even I got a fishing license. I caught my first fish even though it was a tiny little guy...I didn't cry and I really actually enjoyed it! So I think we better make a few more trips. Watch this adorable video of Analise and even a little cruelty on Cody's part....

July Fun in the Sun!

We decided to go to Utah for the 4th of July this year since it had been 2 years since we'd been back. Viola and Darrell let us take over there basement and we were very grateful to them! Thank you!

We spent some time with Ariane, Wyatt and all the kids! Boondocks is a lot of fun! We wished we would've had a little more time with them.

We saw fireworks and watched the Layton parade with Cody's family.

We even took a drive around and showed Analise where we grew up...it was fun reminiscing.

He is CRAZY!!!!

I knew this was going to happen one day! He always talked about doing it so I gave him the ticket for Christmas to jump! We were there with anxiety watching and waiting! I mean just look at this WARNING!!! After signing his life away and a few minute video...I watched him gear up and get in a shuttle to take to the plane. Analise was so nervous (all weekend long)! Poor thing she thought her Daddy would get hurt! Not to mention me...ugghh!!! Luckily I had some experts there with us...Bruce and Heather Felt (who watched Sarah jump) and our neighbors Joey and Auti (Joey has jumped 6 times). His experience was amazing!!! He landed safely on the ground with a happy wife and daughter waiting! Hopefully he won't want to do this again for a very long time!!!

June Summer Fun

School's out and time to have some much needed fun!!! We started our summer hiking to Hidden Falls in Lincoln. It was cool enough to still enjoy the hike but not to cool that we couldn't get our feet wet! A perfect day trip and so close to home!!! Next, we spent the day with our family at Golfland in Roseville. This was a BLAST!!! A little mini-golf, arcade and ended with a race to the finish!OOOOO...who's in 1st place! It felt good to act like a kid for a day! Last we went camping at Gerle Creek up by Icehouse. It was freezing at night and perfect temperature during the day. I love it here! Just gorgeous! Fishing was good! And Analise of course wasn't afraid to touch them! Can't wait to see what fun adventures July will bring us!

10 years already?

You know when you are a little girl you dream of a handsome prince to sweep you off your feet, whisk you away into the sunset and then live happily ever after....well I have to say...I have my handsome prince and everyday he sweeps me off my feet! The sunsets come, maybe not literally but I am whisked away! I know that life isn't perfect and we have definitely had some trying times together but everyday with him gets better and we get closer! 10 years to some is a long time but for me it is only a blink in our forever marriage! I want Cody to know how much I love him and how much fun it is to be married to such a loving husband and the most awesomest father!!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE!

Give a day, Get a day!

We were so excited after we made some blankets to get our free entrance into Disneyland for 1 day! What a deal!!! We couldn't just spend 1 day there though...so we bought 2 more days! Analise was now tall enough to ride almost anything but much to our dismay she was reluctant to try much of anything. With a little help from her cousins she rode Space Mountain and Matterhorn but after those 2 rides she was done with the "scary" ones! Her favorite ride at Disneyland was Pirates! And in California Adventure she loved Mulholland Madness! We had a blast! The parks closed at 8:00 so we went back to my brother's house and played games the rest of the night! It was so much fun! We wish we would've made our trip a few days longer! On the way home we asked Analise what her favorite part about our vacation was and she said playing with her cousins! I guess Disneyland was more for Mom and Dad!!! Can't wait for our next trip!

Happy Birthday Analise!

GREEN, GREEN, GREEN!!!! Analise said she is the most luckiest person because she has a birthday on ST. Patrick's Day and shares the same birthday as her grandpa just 50 years difference! And I would agree! But even more so we are the luckiest to have her in our lives! She has been such a blessing and a miracle in our lives and we love to celebrate this special day with her!!! My Big 7 year old!!!! Do Leprechauns really exist??? Well how did our eggs and milk turn green??? The cutest and most tedious cupcake on earth to take to school! And how you have grown....we love you!!!

Squaw Valley Fun - March 6-8th

A much needed vacation from everyday life..... I think I'll take up snowboarding....what do you think? the view from our room... It was all about the FUN!!! We went with our wonderful neighbors and we just relaxed and had a blast!! What a beautiful place! Sadly none of my pictures from the cable car worked. You could really see God's hand in the beautiful scenery around you. WOW!!! Now you'll just have to go see it for yourselves!

Look at my new friends!

Cocoa and Karli

Does she still believe?

Mom this isn't the real Santa right, just look at his boots?! Is Santa real? I knew this question would come up but I wasn't prepared for it yet. So I needed some Christmas spirit to help us out. With a message from Santa (http://portablenorthpole.tv/), help from my awesome neighbors and the Lincoln fire station....She still believes!!! at least for another year!
