It's true...she wasn't lying when she said she couldn't see the board in class. She is taking after her mommy in somethings. Because 3rd grade was when I got my first pair of glasses. I hated having glasses and none of them ever looked good on me. Analise didn't have that problem! Every pair we tried on looked great! These were our favorite!!! Doesn't she look adorable! Now let's hope they last for awhile. Yes, my sweet baby is 8!!! We had the funnest birthday party ever! Mostly because Mom had to do very little work! No really it was great! We went to Flip 2 it in Roseville. The kids got to play hard for 60 minutes! While the staff decorated the room, wrote down the gifts, served the cake and ice cream and my favorite part they cleaned it all up!! The kids went home exhausted and I wasn't! Usually it's the opposite but I really enjoyed this one! I think she did also! We love you, Analise!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-74556616293880173672010-09-20T21:01:00.000-07:002010-09-20T21:16:51.294-07:00Questions from a 7 year old???
I know it's been awhile but I had to write about the questions that my 7 year old daughter asked me tonight while tucking her in bed. I'm just in awe!!!

Analise: "Mom, my brain is thinking and I just don't know how to ask this...but how do we live?"

Mom: "What do you mean, how do we live?"

Analise: "Well Heavenly Father made us...but who made Heavenly Father."

It stopped me in my tracks....I didn't want to confuse her more with the answer so I just said well that is not something you need to worry about because we just know why we came here and what we need to return to live with Him someday and that is all we need to think about.

She was okay with that answer....we said our prayers and then...

Analise: "Mom, how does Heavenly Father hear all our prayers...because what if someone else was praying right now?"

Again...how is her brain thinking about these things at 7 YEARS OLD!!!!

My answer was ya know I don't know but I do know he answers and hears all of them. And then her real 7 year old thoughts said...yeah he probably has lots of ears!!!

Wow...I'm flabbergasted! I don't think any of these questions were on my mind until High school. It's amazing that I can have these conversations with her now. So next family home evening is going to be on Faith....
Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-59604497959700982312010-08-20T21:17:00.000-07:002010-09-20T21:54:09.000-07:001st Day of 2nd Grade<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/TJg6UPb6F9I/AAAAAAAAAOQ/1vB3_8qbpz8/s320/IMG_24281.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519225462757922770" />
My big 2nd Grader!! She is growing up way too fast! She is very excited to go to Mrs. Parr's class. And just to be going back to school. After I shed a few tears from having her around all day....I picked her up and she said, "Mom I think 2nd grade is longer than 1st grade was." I just laughed....!!!!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-1605279271743414212010-08-10T21:41:00.000-07:002010-09-20T21:52:20.828-07:00Fishing with dad!We decided to go fishing a few times this summer and even I got a fishing license. I caught my first fish even though it was a tiny little guy...I didn't cry and I really actually enjoyed it! So I think we better make a few more trips. Watch this adorable video of Analise and even a little cruelty on Cody's part....

We started our summer hiking to Hidden Falls in Lincoln.

The sunsets come, maybe not literally but I am whisked away! I know that life isn't perfect and we have definitely had some trying times together but everyday with him gets better and we get closer! 10 years to some is a long time but for me it is only a blink in our forever marriage! I want Cody to know how much I love him and how much fun it is to be married to such a loving husband and the most awesomest father!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 229px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/S_Q5W_7MT-I/AAAAAAAAAMQ/vEtiN-WtOGQ/s320/DSC_0305.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5473062514441605090" />
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE!
Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-18384903287338804372010-05-19T10:44:00.001-07:002010-05-19T11:18:03.031-07:00Give a day, Get a day!We were so excited after we made some blankets to get our free entrance into Disneyland for 1 day! What a deal!!! We couldn't just spend 1 day there though...so we bought 2 more days!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/S_QquS1tE5I/AAAAAAAAALo/FT9rLmQxse8/s320/IMG_2228.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5473046421981434770" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/S_Qq88R5cjI/AAAAAAAAALw/OQudebGhrhE/s320/IMG_2267.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5473046673623708210" />
Analise was now tall enough to ride almost anything but much to our dismay she was reluctant to try much of anything. With a little help from her cousins she rode Space Mountain and Matterhorn but after those 2 rides she was done with the "scary" ones! Her favorite ride at Disneyland was Pirates! And in California Adventure she loved Mulholland Madness! We had a blast! The parks closed at 8:00 so we went back to my brother's house and played games the rest of the night! It was so much fun! We wish we would've made our trip a few days longer!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/S_QrObg5i8I/AAAAAAAAAL4/s4uCFe9BcoI/s320/IMG_2274.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5473046974065904578" />
On the way home we asked Analise what her favorite part about our vacation was and she said playing with her cousins! I guess Disneyland was more for Mom and Dad!!! Can't wait for our next trip!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-6785749297778857342010-03-17T19:01:00.000-07:002010-03-17T19:01:24.008-07:00Happy Birthday Analise!GREEN, GREEN, GREEN!!!! But even more so we are the luckiest to have her in our lives! She has been such a blessing and a miracle in our lives and we love to celebrate this special day with her!!! My Big 7 year old!!!!

It was all about the FUN!!! We went with our wonderful neighbors and we just relaxed and had a blast!! What a beautiful place! Sadly none of my pictures from the cable car worked. I knew this question would come up but I wasn't prepared for it yet. So I needed some Christmas spirit to help us out. With a message from Santa (http://portablenorthpole.tv/), help from my awesome neighbors and the Lincoln fire station....She still believes!!!

Doesn't she look gorgeous! And look no cast! After only 4 weeks her cast was removed!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/Su-NWq52oKI/AAAAAAAAAJE/LNWS4RUf2Zw/s320/IMG_1978.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399689898854097058" />We really had an eventful week! We went to a Trunk or Treat last Saturday at my sister's ward. Then we went trick-or-treating in downtown Lincoln on Friday. Which is my favorite!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/Su-NlDSIEoI/AAAAAAAAAJM/PyGCGfBAYRQ/s320/IMG_1981.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399690145916523138" />That same evening we got together with the neighbors and ate pizza and carved pumpkins! It was a BLAST!!! We let Analise carve her own pumpkin and it turned out so cute! She did get a little excited with her knife and decided to cut her friends pumpkin into 3 pieces! OOPS!!! We decided on Halloween that Analise could have a free day and eat as much candy as she wanted! We went Trick-or-Treating with the neighbors and it was so much fun! She started walking a little funny and I knew it was time to quit!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/Su-NwXOct_I/AAAAAAAAAJU/TY4Z8_afERs/s320/IMG_1993.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399690340248369138" />We ended the night with this!!! She was a little sick! So we said maybe tomorrow we will only have 3 pieces of candy. And she said "No I don't want to have any candy."Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-64943334036483337502009-10-22T16:52:00.000-07:002009-10-22T17:46:00.390-07:00Having a pity party! My daughter is getting older, less dependent, not as lovey dubby every minute. And time is ticking! She will be 7 in a few more months and I will be 30. She is gone all day at school and the few hours I have with her are crucial! I miss her! I tried to push the feelings of wanting another child aside by saying "Oh, one child is enough, we are happy with one." I tried to replace those feelings with a new puppy (that turned out totally wrong for our family), running, trying to serve in my calling more but it only helped during those moments and then the feelings would come back ten-fold. My heart is aching for someone to depend on me and love me again. I miss that with my daughter. I miss feeling her kick inside me, those precious moments at the 2 am feeding, watching her as she learned to walk, talk, eat whatever it is! And I loved changing her diapers. I miss it all! I want to do it all again! As I read others blogs, look at pictures, talk to other families, truly my heart is aching! I don't want to hear one more person say to me "At least you have one." "Why chance it" "Be happy with you got"! I know I am very blessed to have one and I love the new adventures we are living with her but am I selfish to want another!? To want Analise to be a big sister. To see my husbands face when I tell him I'm pregnant! I want to feel and experience it all again! I'm so jealous and it is so hard to hear when others are pregnant! I'm happy for you but I want to cry! So for now.....JUST LET ME CRY!!!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-44700366139809859592009-10-08T12:55:00.000-07:002009-10-08T16:13:53.970-07:00To take the pain awayOn Monday we got a call from school that Analise was in the nurse's office in pain! So I rushed to the school and her wrist was swollen on her left arm and she was crying! They said she had fallen from the tall bar at recess. Ouch! Luckily I was able to pass Riley off to her mom and we met Cody at the hospital. She was being so tough...every once in a while she would cry and say she wanted to scream because it her hurt so bad! They did some x-rays and the doctor came in and said it was broken. They wheeled us into a room and said they would need to put Analise to sleep in order to put the bone back in place. The doctor of course walked me through the procedure but I don't think I wanted to listen to all of the things that could happen...I only wanted to hear that they were going to fix her! Cody held her while they put the I.V. in her arm and that was the time when she screamed and then Cody went white and I had to take his place! Let me tell you it's one thing when you are getting an I.V. or anything done but when your daughter is laying in so much pain in the hospital and you can't take that pain away it is a totally different experience and one that I hope you don't have to experience! I can't imagine going through this everyday with cancer or any other disease. I felt woosy a few times, it was just to painful to watch! With pain medication in her, hooked up to all the machines, oxygen going in her they were ready to put the bone in place. We left the room for this part!!! She woke up within 10 minutes with a splint (soft cast) on and they sent us home.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 310px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/Ss5xRQg3HEI/AAAAAAAAAIw/cDDP2s8wLl0/s320/Analise+broken+wrist+10-5-09-A.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390370345313573954" />
Home was rough! It was just sad to see her want to do things herself and cry because she couldn't. Her fingers looked like little sausages because they were so swollen. Nighttime was even harder she couldn't get comfortable and the pain was the worst when she was trying to sleep!
One night I think the medicine made her a little loopy and she talked about the tattoo on her face and the lions on the rocket. She needed to go potty, so Cody told her to stand up and he would hold her arm to get off the bed...and she said "Why, my arms aren't broken!?" It was pretty funny!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/Ss5eEybS5_I/AAAAAAAAAIo/R9pqrXLC4zg/s320/IMG_1925.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390349240357808114" />Now it is Thursday and we have gone all day without medicine and she hasn't complained once of pain! She is even trying to do things with her arm and we are so thrilled to know that it is slowly getting better! In 1 week she will get her hard cast on and then it will be a countdown to the day it comes off! And we will try to send her back to school tomorrow! How grateful I am for wonderful friends and family that have given Analise so much love! It has sure made it easier!!!
Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-58243829181846451102009-09-24T12:58:00.000-07:002009-09-24T12:59:54.125-07:00Just 1 of the fun things from Time Out!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-32053811932804199612009-09-24T11:38:00.000-07:002009-09-24T12:50:31.208-07:00Much Needed Time OutI just wanted to tell all women out there that Time Out for Women is just that and every sister could use a Time Out right? That is exactly what I needed and got! I was inspired to re-focus my life back to the Savior and be the best woman that I can be! There was some really great speakers and sensational music talent. Sheri Dew, S. Michael Wilcox, Wendy Watson Nelson the wife of Russel M. Nelson and my personal favorite was Kim Belcher. The talent was singer Hilary Weeks and violist Jenni Oaks Baker. I just loved it!
A few of my favorite quotes from the weekend were:
Sheri Dew - "Learn the language of your personal revelation - it takes a long time to learn it and ask the Lord for help"
Kim Nelson - "It's okay to be blessed and grateful and have a bad day"
Deanne Flynn - "Motherhood is the greatest challenge because it never ends." "Focus on the things that last"
Kris Belcher - "If you want something...anything just turn to Jesus Christ."
The theme was SWEET ASSURANCE! And we were challenged to think of something we know, that we have had sweet assurance of in our lives!
I KNOW THAT MY FAMILY IS FOREVER and that just makes everything that I do in this life more important and my title as a mother all the more important! Because I want all of my family to be together for eternity!
I hope that if you ever get a change to go to Time Out that you will take it because you won't regret it! You will be inspired and left feeling LOVED!!!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-73625366816713977842009-08-21T16:42:00.000-07:002009-08-21T17:42:20.928-07:001st Day of School<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/So8zDx0UR9I/AAAAAAAAAHg/Hu_a-75mmV0/s320/IMG_1898.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5372569020481685458" />
Yesterday was the first day of FIRST Grade. Analise was nervous and so was Mom! Once I showed her around her classroom and found her desk...she was happy as a clam! "This is great", I thought! Until about 11:30 and the baby I watch was napping and it was quiet and I mean quiet in my house! "What do I do?" I thought. And then the tears started flowing! I was so sad that she was gone and I didn't know what to do without my best friend! Luckily my sister helped me through the tears and I was able to accomplish something that day...even if it was a banner that said "Welcome Home Analise" and a trip to Target for a little gift for her 1st day. Yes I am a pathetic mom! But I know it will get easier and I will eventually enjoy my time! When she came home it was so perfect because she loved everything about her day! Yeah! Happy 1st day of school everyone!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-83834998572091421742009-08-21T16:30:00.000-07:002009-08-21T17:44:59.171-07:00Overview of our summer! This summer was actually a quiet summer! We didn't go too many places or make ourselves crazy. But we enjoyed it none the less. Here is a few things that happened...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/So80OaQaWkI/AAAAAAAAAHo/dm3Z_mMFnSw/s320/IMG_1722.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5372570302647261762" />Trixie got her 1st haircut! Yes this is the dog that we all were so excited to get and we are still learning to love her! Emphasize on the learning!!! But I have to say she is pretty adorable! We put her in training classes so hopefully it helps!

We started it off by running a 5K in Roseville! My first ever! Cristy and Mandi were the culprits that pushed me to do it and then I decided to get my family involved. So my sister and my dad ran! It sparked the runner in me! Because now I have to say I enjoy running! I finished in 29:21! My goal was under 30 minutes so I did it! Now I'm shooting for a half marathon! I loved the atmosphere and I think this will be something we do every year! Then we enjoyed the rest of our day relaxing! And then ended with fireworks of course!

We did 2 sessions of swim lessons and she passed level 2! Everyday she asked if she could swim! Luckily we have 4 neighbors with pools and let me tell ya...we used them all!

It was so nice and cool! The beach was a little too cold but we enjoyed it anyways! We just had so much fun! The only thing that wasn't fun was the skunks and raccoons in our campground! Yikes they just got a little too close! I think we definitely need to make a trip back to the beach!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5961463942376776915.post-71560552641624989852009-07-17T13:45:00.000-07:002009-07-17T14:06:09.593-07:00A comedian?<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZhZErSqc92I/SmDnmjGp39I/AAAAAAAAAHY/QJ7ahjSeeX8/s320/IMG_1615.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5359538206015086546" />
Month 2 of summer break and I have enjoyed the moments that I have shared with Analise. From swim lessons to just lounging in our pj's until afternoon. She is a hoot lately. She is always coming up with some funny things and has brought joy to me this summer. Here has been some of our conversations:
While driving in the car, Mom says "Today is going to be busy and I'm not looking forward to it"
Analise "Just save the drama and send it to NETFLIX!"
----
While talking with the neighbors outside. Analise says "Everyone's a critic!"
---
Just talking about Daddy coming home from work. Analise says "Boys have no sense of humor!"
And then you can't help but laugh at the picture...She is such a joy! And I once heard that LAUGHTER IS INNER JOGGING!!! So Analise, thanks for helping me work out just a little more!Cody, Holly and Analisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10151193896869377506noreply@blogger.com0
