It's just like having a new baby!?

It all started when the due date was set for Easter weekend. We got a phone call that said she wouldn't be here for another week. The long week finally passed! The due date was here again. And I was nesting, seriously cleaning the whole house from top to bottom. We drove quickly to the airport and anxiously waited with 2 other families. After 2 long hours, we got more bad news. False labor? She missed her flight and we could pick her up at 11:45 at night. Drove home and put Analise to bed. Cody drove out himself and I blogged away until he got home. Cody walked in and I was in tears. The sweetest little face poking out at me. She was the tiniest thing I had ever seen. We cleaned her up and the adventure began. Waking up in the middle of the night, wondering if she was okay and not to mention the potty breaks. But after 1 night she was sleeping through the night and I thought this is too easy.....Little did I know....Postpartum depression....in the worst kind of way!! The pooping and peeing inside has got to stop and not to mention the running from me and biting!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!! Then I'm reminded by Cody that she is just 10 weeks old and she is learning just like a baby! Do I have this in me? I hope I can hold out because the joy that little Trixie has brought to Analise is beyond comparison! She is always happy to wake up and take her potty in the morning and play with her. She is even sad that she has to miss her while she is at school. She just loves her...I mean who would let a dog lick there face all over and I mean all over! They are 2 peas in a pod! So I will make it and I'm sure after 6 months, she will be the best addition to our family! And she will be a JOY to all of us! Welcome to our family Trixie!

I have always heard a puppy is like a baby and I guess that is what you are experiencing. I am so happy that Analise is just smitten with her - that is pretty cool. I am sure once you get the potty-training under control, you will love her just as much as she does. I have to come see her soon!!! we miss hanging out with you guys!!

OH...WOW... Trixie is so dang cute!!! What a sweet little face she has. We want a dog so bad and this blog only made it worse. I told Tyson that we can't get a puppy tell Rex is potty trained. We have two more years before we get a family doggy. Don't think that I can wait that long. Good luck with all the newborn puppy stuff you are going through. She is so so cute!
